Founded in 1828, Tarros Group is a Multimodal Transport Operator offering maritime and logistic services in the Mediterranean. The company handles directly, thanks to its international network, all the supply chain phases providing, to its clients, a tailor-made service customised in all the steps of integrated logistics and transport. Our key words are sustainability, solutions, quality, and innovation. 

An example of that is the creation of the new Sustainability and ESG Department. Additionally, we witnessed the creation of the new Tarros Certified Container, a type of container that, prior to its delivery to the clients, is subject to strict controls. 

The Group is able to deliver to the market “18 plus one” type of containers: the plus one will be designed according to the next client’s needs. 

The Group, with its 28 societies, handles not only freight in containers but also break bulk and general cargo directly controlling each shipment and thus offering, to its clients, a customised service in all the steps of transport and integrated logistics. 

In accordance with the widening of its services, Tarros Group has established, through time, partnerships with local operators in all the countries covered by its ships. The latter enabled Tarros Group to build a strong Euro-Mediterranean network of societies, part of Tarros Group, thus exerting direct control over each step of the logistic chain. 

Tarros Group has decided to optimize the sea-transport to offer the best service with the minimum number of ships: the concept of sustainability lays in an effective and efficient behaviour thus handling the fleet in accordance with the clients’ needs following the evolution of the market. 

Today, Tarros Group is not only a maritime company but rather a Multimodal Transport Operator offering logistic services in the Mediterranean, operating with its multipurpose Terminal in La Spezia - TDG- and with its road and rail transport society, CarBox. 

TDG is a port terminal with 75000 sqm of surface providing a wide range of services and customised solutions and directly following each step of the shipping. Thanks to diversified equipment and highly professional personnel, TDG is able to handle the ship loading and disembarkation as well as the project cargo movement, rolling stock, steel material, general cargo and stuffing and unstuffing operations of freight to be loaded in the Terminals of the Port of La Spezia.

The enlargement and development project will lead the Terminal to gain a total surface equal to 120000 sqm with a seabed of 15m brining the Terminal capacity to 600.000 TEUs. 

CarBox provide services for containers road-transport at national level to the main global carrier and freight forwarders employing owned vehicles. 

In order to offer an effective and efficient service to its clients, CarBox has a presence in La Spezia, where its headquarter, as well as an equipped garage are located, and in the cities of Genoa, Venice and Nola with operational offices and qualified personnel. Recently, Tarros Maroc was opened with its site in Casablanca

Up to today, the fleet counts more than 160 tractors, 170 semi-trailers and 40 subcontractors employed in the different business units. 

In 2018, the Company has begun a container trading activity both in Italy and abroad in collaboration with Northern European and Mediterranean partners.
