Ravenna - Logistic partnership between Sapir and Nova
Marine Holding
Sapir group from Ravenna specialises in port terminals and Nova Marine Holding an expert in the transport of marine bulk have set up a company offering integrated logistics services based on the port of Ravenna . The new company C.I.i. I.R. with headquarters in Ravenna will supply door to door services for maritime transport including handling unloading, storage and supervision of the unloading procedure.
MIT 25 million for green road transport
A MIT decree for 25 million euro has been approved for updating transport vehicles fleet. The funds are for the purchase of ecological technologically advanced vehicles to reduce pollution and increase competition. The amount will be divided into 2.5 million for purchasing new ecological vehicles for the transport of 3.5 tons or more, 15 million for scrapping and replacing with new vehicles, 7.5 million for new trucks and trailers for road/rail transport with attachments for sea transport. The funds are available to freight transporters registered with the National Electronic Register and the Register of Hauliers.
Direct Genoa Stockholm Rail
Starting May PSA Italy will operate a direct rail link between Genoa Pra port and Stockholm with departures on Mondays and Fridays at 5.00 from Genoa and Tuesdays and Fridays from Kornwestheim hub and Stuttgart (the Stuttgart Express). The service joins the Southern Express thrice weekly service between the port of Genoa and the Swiss terminal of Frenkendorf near Basel with a fast reliable and ecologically sustainable service for reaching Southern European markets. Both services are part of Port +which connects all services with the PSA terminal.
Rail Shuttle with Hupac
Hupac has started a shuttle train between Busto Arìsizio and Interport Padova. The service will use three weekly departures in both directions in order to facilitate the transfer of national interlobular traffic in Northern Italy. The service will absorb the traffic held up by frequent continual works on the Mannheim-Karlsruhe-Basel line through Switzerland and also the upcoming works on the Brenner and Tarvisio line which will suspend the Duisburg – Pordenone line.
Moby Fantasy hand over.
The Chinese yard Guangzhou Shipyard International Co. has handed over the Moby Fantasy ferry. A vessel with capacity for 2500 passengers, 3700 linear meters of garage for 1300 cars or 300 trucks. The ferry is one of the world’s largest and is one of two twins ordered from GSI for Moby. The 65,000 ton vessel is 237 meters long with a beam of 32 metres and will operate on the line from Livorno to Olbia.
New passenger terminal for Porto Empedocle
Porto Empedocle has officially opened its new passenger terminal. The terminal cost 3.25 million Euro and was financed by the Programme PON infrastructure, PAC 2014/2020 and Asse C-C2. Ticket offices are on the ground floor with waiting room, and the police offices. Luggage deposit, information office, news agent and services are on the top floor with the offices of Western Sicily Port System Authority and cafeteria. The facility also includes parking for 20 cars and 10 bike sharing stalls.
Eight New Tankars for Montinari
Navigazione Montinari using Nai Int. a Maltese company has purchased 8 oil/chemical tankers from the Cyprus controlled Sole Shipping from Vassholmen (Valeadore, Valgardena, Valle Azzura, Valle Bianca, Valrossa, Valsesia, Valtellina and Valverde as part of an original sale and leaseback agreement dated December 18 2018 regarding 11 vessels.
La Spezia – First Steps for Cold Ironing
The formal act for the electrification of the Molo Garibaldi wharf in La Spezia has been signed . The wharf is currently used for cruise ships. The contract includes the transformer and cold ironing plant which will supply 16 megawatts for the vessels tied up. The project is financed by PNRR and will be completed by the end of 2024.
